The SUV's, at apx. 13 mpg vs. the 25 the average American was working with, are simply the naive blow-off of cheap energy, the aftermath of the overreaction to OPEC's initial success. "No-fault" insurance is simply an attempt to make an uneconomic system sustainable. Inflexibility of transportation, many people planning trips, shopping around gridlock MULTI-DISCIPLINARY Cars never were the least bit practical in snow. In a car culture such as in most of the U.S., one doesn't know if he/she will have transportation tomorrow. ADAPTING TO CAR CULTURES FOOD Fast food's major growth is surely rooted in the car culture.
